WE TRAVELED THE ENTIRE LOWER 48 AND LANDED IN TEXAS
Our story
For many years we were in the transportation industry… heavy haul to be specific. We lived in Iowa (Michelle’s home state) but in 2022 life began to change! We were working on a project near Haskell, TX and our friend that lived at PK invited us to spend the weekend at his house. It was all over from there!
We moved our camper down first and began coming back to Possum Kingdom every chance we got. Even though we had a gorgeous home and land in Iowa, we kept returning to PK. Early the following year, due to some health issues, we had to leave our careers in transportation.
We sold the house, found a beautiful piece of land at PK and moved our entire life. After returning to the trades (where Mike began his career before trucking) he spent a couple years working as project manager for a dock company. But we worked side by side together for so many years it was hard making that change.
So in 2025 we joined forces and added home management and maintenance to Michelle's already existing house keeping business and renamed it Kemp Co. Home Services. And it has been great!
As we grew through 2025 and continue to meet so many amazing homeowners it definitely confirms that this is the place we were meant to be! As our schedule fills up in 2026, we continue to put our hearts and skills forward into creating services that benefit all the Possum Kingdom Locals. One of our goals is for you to be able to buy back your time by handing your annoying to-do lists to us, so when you get home, your only job is to relax. That’s been my motto from the start, and we don’t plan on changing that.
