Cleaning Supplies
Don’t let the products you use prevent 5-star reviews
The two biggest reasons you get less than five stars
isn’t because they disliked your vacation rental or the experience. It’s a dirty house and a house that contains strong cleaning supplies odors.
Low-Odor Shower Cleaner
Use an odorless foaming cleaner with a dry, clean mop head or microfiber to clean shower walls. This makes what once was a time-consuming task more efficient. Showers have large areas that need cleaning, so a low-odor or odorless product will help your bathrooms from smelling too powerful.
Actual Mops
Swiffer’s don’t cut it in the vacation rental world. They take too long and don’t provide the great clean that you need between stays.
Nothing beats a real mop to get the job done. My preferred brand is O-Cedar!
A Pocket Knife
Sounds funny, but sometimes a rough-sided sponge can’t get the job done (Although you want plenty of those too). Vacation rental guests make messes, and sometimes they seem impossible to get clean. Using a pocket knife with very gentle pressure can usually scrape off whatever you’re struggling with.
Oil-Based Stainless Cleaner
Those silly stainless steel wipes never clean the way they should. Finding a valuable oil-based cleaner will help you clean all your stainless faster and give it a better shine.
Microfiber Cloths
When cleaning windows, mirrors, and stainless steel, paper towels leave little fuzzies everywhere. Leaving you frustrated and spending too much time in that area. A good, fluffy microfiber cloth will leave everything looking pristine.
A Good Vacuum
This may be the most important item in this list. A good vacuum ensures you’re picking up all the dirt, grass, hair, and debris off hard floors and carpet. Brooms are great to leave for guest use, but a vacuum is the only way to go for a turnover.
